The Incubator Multimedia "Belle de Mai" is an organization intended to help innovating projects, in the multimedia & information technologies industries, to transform their project into viable company.

The national network consists in 29 public incubators. These incubators are financed by the Research Department, with the help of the European Social Fund (ESF), the local communities and direct contributions from the member institutions. The incubators are legally independent entities of private status.
Three incubators are located in the PACA Region: Impulse for PACA West, Incubateur PACA Est for PACA East and the Incubator Multimedia Belle de Mai which has a national scope. All three together represent: 200 projects, 160 firms, and 8 million euros.
The Incubator Multimedia Belle de Mai is the only French incubator to be labelled by the Department of National Education, the Department of Research and Technology, in the specific field of numerical industries and multimedia contents. It is a national device which welcomes and accompanies projects coming from the whole country and can even intervene in the structuring of international projects.
Intervening from the starting point of the economic projects, even before the actual creation of the firms, the Incubator Multimedia Belle de Mai acts as a real starter in the firms’structuring process by developing for itself, as well as for the projects it accompanies, a culture of cooperation and exchanges.
The Incubator Multimedia Belle de Mai possesses its own financial tool. Its annual investment capacity amounts to sixty thousand euros by project. The financing of the projects is made through repayable advances. The incubator develops a real entrepreneurial logic with risk-taking.
True center of technological transfers, the Incubator Multimedia Belle de Mai is the permanent and privileged interface between the projects and the research laboratories whose competences and results he enhances. Through the creation of innovating firms, its missions are:

- to innovate in numerical technologies
- to create and anticipate new practices
- to control the transfer of knowledge and know-how
- to valorize research
